Labeling and Organizing 5S Solutions For The Visual Workplace
Lean manufacturing has become the standard in order to compete in our global economy. Start
your improvements right by sorting; mark items with red tags or labels to identify what needs to
be cleared away from the work area. This will help you create efficiency and effectiveness by
identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new
order. To keep your essential tools in order and easily-accessible try our custom shadow boards.
All your tools will be organized and their storage place will be visually identified to help you sustain order. Use floor marking symbols, signs, tapes and stencils to define work areas, storage, traffic,
and work flow. Bulletin boards and magnetic dry erase boards will support the concept of visual management; you can easily post updates and work status to keep employees informed of work
in the facility. Remind your employees to stay healthy and safe with Personal Protective Equipment signs and charts. Build a clear understanding among employees of how work should be done and
instill ownership of the process in each employee with 5S signs, banners and posters to reinforce
the 5S principles.

Fall Protection and Ergonomics
Three key components of the Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) must be in place and
properly used to provide maximum worker protection.  A. Anchorage Connector: Commonly
referred to as a tie-off point.  B. Body Wear: The personal protective equipment worn by the
worker.  C. Connecting Device: The critical link which joins the body wear to the anchorage/
anchorage connector

Horizontal Lifeline Systems:
For years safety engineers and site directors have put their trust
in the highly engineered DBI-SALA horizontal lifeline systems for superior technology, safety and productivity.  A horizontal lifeline is a complex system comprised of a flexible line with connectors
at both ends for securing it horizontally between two anchorages or anchorage connectors.
These systems are use to protect workers operating in the horizontal plane who may not have continuous access to suitable anchorage points.

First Aid and Emergency Products
Employees must be provided with a safe and healthy workplace that is reasonably free of occupational hazards.  It is unrealistic, however to expect accidents not to happen.  Therefore, employers are required to provide personnel with medical and first aid supplies commensurable, with the hazards of
the workplace.

Flammable Storage
Safety Cans, Safety Cabinets, and Cylinder Storage Lockers are a necessary part of OSHA
compliance for safety in the workplace. Justrite believes that they are much more.  Justrite

space is at a premium. For high capacity safe storage, including safe storage of 55-gallon drums,
larger sized cabinets designed specifically to house 30-gallon (114 liter) or 55-gallon (208 liter)

Instrumentation and Confined Space
Follow These 3 Steps in Gas Detection1. Bump Test: Before you use your instrument, it's important that you know that the senor and alarms will function properly.  The only way that you can be sure of this is to expose your instrument to a known concentration of gas and verify that it responds correctly.  2. Calibrate: Conditions such as temperature, humidity, age and gas exposure will all affect the output of your sensor.  Calibrating your instrument compensates for these factors and guarantees that your reading are accurate.  3. Review Data: Almost all gas detectors in use today provide some form of datalogging.  Information stored in your gas detector can provide keen insight into potential problems that may be hiding in your work environment.
